July 28, 2026 Letter to Springfield Township Planning Commission

July 28, 2026 Letter to Springfield Township Planning Commission

At the July 28, 2026 Springfield Township Planning Commission meeting, each commissioner and the Carlisle|Wortman representatives in attendance received a letter from Oko Environmental requesting more complete monthly updates on the Levy/Burroughs Materials Corporation application.

Current reports have provided little information beyond stating that revised application materials have not been submitted. Meanwhile, well installation, road testing, consultant work, communication with the applicant, and activity at the Ormond Road property have continued.

The letter points to the recent delivery of a bulldozer as one example. That activity was not included in the monthly update, and residents were not told what work was planned, where it would occur, or how long it might continue.

The application pause should be used to help commissioners and residents understand the proposal before revised materials arrive. Future updates could remain brief while identifying new activity, completed work, outstanding questions, next steps, and where supporting records can be found.

The current level of reporting does not adequately serve the Planning Commission or the public.
