FFM: September 25, 2025

The Fact-Finding Meeting (FFM) members met on September 25 under a structured format led by Supervisor Ric Davis. The meeting flowed between Township leaders and professional expert discussion. Attendees included independent experts, resident committee members, S.T.E.P. Co-Chair Amanda Gruzin, and Kara Okonewski of Oko Environmental.

The Independent expert provided updates on their thorough review of the mining application and technical reports. Supervisor Ric Davis conducted a pointed line of questioning with the experts, emphasizing a thorough examination of the details. Resident members were also able to ask questions and share input for the record.

Notably, S.T.E.P. Co-Chair Amanda Gruzin participated in a positive and encouraging way, contributing to efforts to improve communication and strengthen STEP’s working relationship with the township.

As part of the next steps, the committee will take part in an experiential tour of the Oxford Mine on October 4th, providing an opportunity to see mining operations firsthand and gather additional perspective. The public is welcome on this tour, but it has limited seating. Please reach out to contact@okoenv.com if you would like to attend.

The FFM committee will continue meeting to review expert findings and prepare information for the Planning Commission’s public hearing. This is a long and detailed process that involves careful review of extensive technical data. Community members are encouraged to explore the technical site plans and reports available on our website to better understand the scope of the application.
